Mission Statement
What: Our vision is to create jobs and to provide support for organizations involved in the manufacturing and distribution of food once it has left the farm.
Who: We support "bzzzness" organizations involved in manufacturing, processing, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, and construction for the food industry.
Where: We aim to reach organizations within Cambridge and surrounding region. (To our friends across the pond - that's Cambridge, ON. But feel free to stop by sometime...)
Vision
We are connectors. We aim to connect people - employers with employees, entrepreneurs with clients, and ideas with ways to make them happen.
We are educators. We educate through workshops, seminars, and programs. We aim to create a collaborative hub - a hive - where ideas can be cross-pollinated.
We are resource providers. These are two programs we plan to implement in the future.
Goal
Within the food manufacturing and distribution industries, we focus on a few specific areas. We aim to support and aid collaboration between 3 departments that do not typically work together:
Food Departments - These are the departments responsible for food safety and processing, product innovation, and repair and maintenance of the equipment.
Supply Chain Departments - These departments are responsible for lean processes, sourcing supply, and food distribution.
IT Departments - These departments are responsible for automation, integrated software and/or hardware, robotics, and technology used to track products such as RFIDS.
Our goal is to break these departments out of their silos and create collaboration. Here are some examples of the results collaboration could create:
